About Franco Margiari:

Lives and works in Florence. With a presence in various exhibitions in Italy and abroad, he has participated in numerous group collections, and presented others under his own name, among which the 2004 exhibition at the Diocesan Museum in Florence stands out, as does the International Competition of Florence that same year in which he won the Fiorino d’oro Award (Golden Florin).

Futuristic traits are evident in Franco’s work. With foreshortenings, thoughts, spaces that are presented violently on the canvas, by means of an elusive, but well drawn out image, with quick and dense brush strokes. The choice of colors emanates from a thoughtful, introspective yet impulsive search which forces the observer to concentrate on the piece, posing questions and pausing to reflect about this Romantic work which, at times, draws from futuristic propaganda. There is no escape for the dramatic areas of darkness against the strokes of light in the foreground which, magically, become three dimensional. The images are presented on the canvas as immediate flashbacks, possible recollections of recurring dreams, or simply of emotions which have not been displayed in real life.

Margari, a passionate soul, pays attention to introspection, through the titles which he bestows upon his work and through his paintings which, after having being worked on with agility, achieve the immediate captivation of the observer. There are so many places, infinite words and reflections which leave an immediate space for the subjective interpretation.

The painter has participated in International Exhibition: of Art in Strasbourg, Pordenone, Padua, Reggio Emilia, Udine and Rome. His collaborations in public collections are numerous and, among others, include:
