Micro-Theatre Miami, an alternative for the lovers of the acting art

Miami has become one of the top cities for local and foreign tourism, its warm beaches and modern landscape has proven to be addictive to the public, including the very insatiable millennials; it is hard to picture this majestic city without adding to the equation its Latin-American community, its gorgeous International Airport, and of course its extraordinary Down Town.

Miami is one of those cities where you can find diversity in its people and in its architecture. A few years ago, the city started filling its empty field: a contemporary and artistic environment away from Windwood. One of the ideas that has gained popularity among the young citizens and every time more tourists is Micro-Theatre.

Micro-Theatre MiamiBut how does it work? Fresh and new talents get together every weekend and perform in small mercantile containers, a quite reduced podium full of exclusivity, good local food, and outstanding staff. Their main subjects are always social and family related, touching those intern lines we sometimes want to avoid but recognizing their importance for our growth as a cosmopolitan and diverse community. The plays last no longer than 15 to 20 minutes, but their interaction with the spectator is intense.

A very good friend of mine once told me: “Life would be tasteless without the magic of the arts”, and those words couldn’t be more accurate. The first time you attend a Micro-Theatre, you feel the passions and the power of these artists. The second time you are already prepared to be entertained like nowhere else, the third time you bring someone with you.
