At Room Mate Hotels we love to take care of you and we always think of the best for you. We want you to feel at home and for that reason, now more than ever, your health is the most important thing for us.

In all the hotels we have activated our protocol, which includes the redesign of the cleaning and hygiene procedures in order to protect, care for and guarantee the safety of all: guests, suppliers and our hotel staff. This rigorous and exhaustive protocol has already been successfully tested in the 12 hotels that have been working during this period.

01. Rooms

Our usual comfort with maximum safety.

  • We have increased the disinfection of rooms as well as the frequency of cleaning in public areas every 45 minutes (including doorknobs, elevator buttons and any other surface or object that is within everyone's reach).

  • All room keys will be disinfected before use.

  • Use of specific disinfectants for cleaning all surfaces in the room.

  • The ventilation of the rooms is being maximized.

  • The rotation of rooms has been increased, trying to keep each room empty for some days between each clients stay.

  • Cleaning or maintenance services will be carried out when all of the guest are outside the room.

  • Decorative items and stationery in rooms will be removed.

  • All blankets and pillows in closets are protected.

  • The minibar items are available upon request.

  • Breakfasts will be offered according to the phase in which each hotel is. In a first phase, breakfasts will be served in the room. In a second phase, the common areas with a la carte breakfast service will be enabled and in a third phase, the breakfast buffet will be enabled, maintaining all the necessary security measures.

02. Hotel - Common areas

  • Hydroalcoholic gel will be available in all the common areas (reception, waiting areas, elevator entrance, breakfast area, event rooms, gym, etc ...).

  • At the entrance you will find a cleaner to disinfect your shoes.

  • Our receptions have been modified with protective screens and signage on the ground to guarantee compliance with the safety distance.

  • The maximum capacity of the elevators will be adjusted to guarantee the safety distance.

  • Temporary removal of furniture and decorative objects that prevent compliance with the minimum distances.

  • Customers who request it will have gloves, mask and thermometer at their disposal.

  • Machine wash of any glassware and tableware (glasses, cups, etc.) at high temperature.

  • All cleaning products comply with sanitary guarantees against viruses.

  • The capacity in the common areas has been reduced to avoid crowds (breakfast bars and restaurants).

  • For those establishments that have a fitness room, it will be necessary to make a prior reservation.

  • We recommend the use of electronic means to make any payment through a credit or debit card to minimize contact.

  • Express check-out

  • Our staff receive continuous training to apply and update security measures.

  • For events & meeting rooms, the distance and protection measures for attendees, as well as catering services, will always be controlled.

We apply all the measures and recommendations of the health authorities in all the countries where we are present, adding our own measures to protect customers, suppliers and employees.

In addition, all our employees receive constant training to guarantee the correct application of the measures established in the protocols.

04. Frequent questions

Is it safe to stay at Room Mate Hotels?

We have reinforced all the cleaning and disinfection protocols in rooms and common areas of our establishments according to the recommendations of the health authorities, but we have also added our own measures. All our staff and suppliers receive permanent training and we carry out periodic audits to guarantee your safety.

Also, we have been able to test the effectiveness of our protocols to prevent the risk of contagion since they have been implemented during the period in which the hotels have been working as a temporary residence for healthcare personnel, as well as those that remain open welcoming our clients.

How does Room Mate Hotels guarantee the cleanliness of its facilities?

Your safety is our priority and that is why we have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of regular contact surfaces, as well as ventilation to ensure your safety. Protective screens and signage have been installed in all of our receptions to guarantee the distance between people and hydroalcoholic gel dispensers have been installed. We have masks and gloves for those clients who request it.

These additional measures and protocols have already been tested and have been applied in the 13 hotels open to healthcare personnel and the elderly. In addition, all Room Mate Hotels staff receive daily training on security measures.

What happens if the hotel remains closed?

You can choose between receiving a full refund or a bonus redeemable until February 2021.

What happens if the hotel is open, but I cannot make my trip due to force majeure?

Do not worry, we are at your disposal to help you. Do not hesitate to write to the hotel so that we can review your reservation. We are aware that we are in an extraordinary situation and that there are external causes that may affect your travel plans.

Can I make my reservation now and cancel later for free?

Yes! Remember that our Flexible Rates allow you to cancel your reservation for free until the day of arrival.

When do the hotels open?

The date of reopening of our hotels will depend largely on what the authorities of each country establish. Currently the establishments that are open are: Room Mate Aitana in Amsterdam and Room Mate Bruno in Rotterdam.
